As we start out again on Roadtrip 2.0, we are going to be posting road tunes - and looking for recommendations as well. We are going to try and match the music with the location and subject matter of where we are on the road. First pick - couldn't be more traditional: Stan Rogers, "Northwest Passage". For those of you unfamiliar with Stan Rogers and his music, here's a brief bio. One of Canada's finest singer-songwriters, he was known for his distinctive celtic Maritime folk music. He was tragically killed in an Air Canada crash in Cincinatti in 1983. With his death at 33, Rogers did not live to see his fame and ultimate position as an iconic Canadian folk singer. Almost twenty years after his death, Peter Gzowski and the CBC held a nationwide contest to find the alternate Canadian anthem. "Northwest Passage" won hands down.
